I’m not sure how I have been photographing weddings in Savannah for 3 years and haven’t had a wedding at Forsyth until this one. Ellen and John are not your typical bride and groom. When Ellen first contacted me, she knew she had to get married at the Forsyth Park Fountain in Savannah. It was her dad’s favorite place in the city. Ellen told me rain or shine she was getting married there. I loved her dedication to sticking that out. Her dad passed away about a month before the wedding and the last time she saw him was practicing their wedding walk. I am SO glad it was just the perfect sunny day for her and John to commit their lives to each other in this special place.
You will notice many moments between this couple where you can tell they are just staring at each other speaking their own love language through their eyes. It was seriously inspiring to me as their photographer. I did not choose many of their kiss photos for the blog since I think there is more being said in their glances and smiles.
One of the really cool things that was different than my typical weddings was not the first look, many of my couples do those. Ellen told me her and John are best friends and it would be really cool for them to get ready together, and it was SO special. I’ve never photographed a couple who were the only two in the room getting ready (calmly I may add) and sharing every part of their wedding day together. I just love how he was watching her put on her shoes and get ready. One other super fun thing for me was when Ellen hopped in the bathtub in her dress. Oh and be sure to check out that ring shot at the end.. I’ve always wanted to do that!!! :)
I am so honored to have been the photographer to capture the moments from your wedding. Thank you for giving me a glimpse into your beautiful love you share with each other.
