The art of photography is cool and all, but the people!! That is what I love the most.
I sat and listened intently during the bridesmaid speech as Katie’s sister told all about their grandmother who had passed away. She said their grandmother’s wish for the girls when they visited her in the hospital was for them to find a love like she had had with their grandfather. Kelly believed Katie and Deleno possessed exactly this type of love that their grandmother was talking about. We all sat in the room with eyes welling with tears, and I felt like I was part of the family listening to the stories.
Some really awesome New England photographers, Justin and Mary, say it perfectly on their site.. “The truth is We don’t this picture for the bride, although she loves it too….but for her future granddaughter to one day find.”
I am a sucker for old family wedding pictures. In fact I have a wall dedicated to just that in my house. And I am also a sucker for the stories behind the pictures. Katie’s grandfather is pictured below with her and also speaking during the ceremony and it just means so much to know the story Kelly told during the reception.

Katie and Deleno were just a blast to photograph from the beginning. Be sure to check out their engagement session in Safety Harbor here. The portraits had some gorgeous light that made it a LOT of fun for me! The nature walk at Inniswood was also just beautiful at that time of day.

Many many many happy years to this sweet couple. May you someday tell your granddaughters to find a love like the one you two share.
