Jillian + Chris | Honeymoon Island Engagement Session

Florida Film Photographer

Honeymoon Island is just around the corner from my new home in Dunedin, FL. Jillian and Chris drove over from Orlando to let me photograph their engagement session in this romantic, secluded island just off the west coast of Florida. You can drive onto the island, then you can hop a ferry or just peer across the small distance that connects Honeymoon island to Caledesi which was rated the top beach in our NATION!! http://www.cbsnews.com/news/caladesi-island-dubbed-best-beach-in-us/

In July my husband and I were able to fulfill one of our huge goals we’ve always dreamed of… we bought a boat!!! Since we moved over to Dunedin (and happen to live next door to the marina master at the Dunedin marina) we have been able to use the boat almost every weekend, excluding some busy wedding weekends for me. We are a 5 minute boat ride over to Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island. I was just thrilled they came all this way to do their engagement session on one of my favorite places in the state. You cannot beat the crystal clear water and all the shells that get washed up and the crowds aren’t there to walk all over them!  I feel like I could disappear on this island and no one would ever find me, and that kind of excites me! The word “island” comes from the word “isolate”.. and there’s just something so great about being isolated, especially with the one you love. Jillian and Chris are both extremely busy with work and Jillian is in school, and on top of that they are planning a wedding in their “down time”. They had just one weekend to do their engagement session since they are both so busy. They had to fight some nasty I4 traffic to get out here, but once they were here on the island, they could feel the isolation and the peace that it brings.

I love that the scene and colors match what they are wearing so perfectly. Totally makes the pictures cohesive and easier to look through.
